Can anyone identify this?

not my engine but same thing I'm trying to identify. seems to be causing rough idle on my 302....

I believe that it senses atmospheric pressure. I had a spider build a nest in the opening to the outside -- really changed its ability to sense anything.

LOL that would definetly suck! is there a proper name for this thing tho? I can't walk into the parts store and say Hi, i need a sensor that senses atmospheric pressure thingy for an 89 f150! LOL

I believe it's the M.A.P. sensor. It stands for manifold absolute pressure and senses pressure in your manifold I believe.

Yes that's your M.A.P. sensor. My cab was outside for two years as I did frame and drivetrain work. Mine now has a mud wasp nest in the hose port. >.<

lol Im not sure if the port if plugged but I know the electrical connection appears loose.... and if I bang on it the idle changes LOL

anyone have a diagram of the vacume system on an 89 302? I think I have more gremlins here than originaly though....... truck runs ish.... won't idle worth a crap.... until I create a vacume leak.... then it runs great..... how is that for messed up.
