I have a 03 explorer, which I took to the shop to get looked at because my AC unit was clicking. I was told that it was the blend door actuator, so I went and bought a new one but the connection of my old one is on the side and the new one has it on the back does that make a difference on how it works? I installed it but now I am just getting HOTT air. What do I do?? Can someone help me??

i think the motor was changed over the years. i have heard the motor for a 1998-99 has different plug than the 2002-03. Are you saying the motor electric plug is different? I would guess you have the wrong motor.

I did a little research today when the actuator my son bought for his 03 Explorer had the plug on the side instead of the back, and didn't work when plugged in. I went to the NAPA site and it appears that if you have an 04 there are two listed, one that has the plug on the back is listed as manual control. The one with the plug on the side is listed as automatic control.
For what ever reason, the only one listed for the 03 is automatic A/C, and has the plug on the side. That could account for why they don't work on a manual system.
