Nice score! It was listed with the wrong title. Unless you search for a "Ford heater", you probably won't normally find the listing.

Great job!

It always helps when an item is mis-identified, good score.

you mean they didn't have magic air in the 30's ? dang, maybe this won't work for for my application? jk
yep I just happened onto that listing and was hoping nobody else was watching nice when people don't know what they have, but only if you can find it! even better when your not bidding against other FTE'rs.

A few years ago I was at a live auction and noticed two "Hogsheads", the part that goes between the flywheel bellhousing and transmission on the the F-2 and up trucks. It's used for adapting a modern transmission to a flattie. As the auction progressed the auctioneer passed by them. I asked if he was going to auction them and he annouced to the crowd, "Any one want to bid on the wheel weights?", and starting the bidding at $3 for the pair. I got them for $3, took them home, cleaned them up a little and sold them for $75 a piece. No one knew what they were. I've sold quite a few parts my wife wanted to toss out as "junk". When I told her they were worth "$X" amount she said I was nuts, but later I got some decent money for the "Junk". You just have to know what you're dealing with.

jmadsen , definetly looks like you will need a heater boot .Let me know . Just received a fresh batch of rubber to make more . Today the UPS delivery of the 3 pc . fresh air tube . Will talk to my buddy soon and see what we will need to make them .Will keep you posted . Am going to try and post pics of a '51 fresh air tube in compareison to a '52 fresh air tube . The only difference is the front air intake piece .I think each will work in either truck .

Interesting about the 51 / 52 fresh air tube front piece being different? doesn't sound like a huge difference then? at least not enough to matter I guess.

Yes, I will definitly need a rubber boot, in the near future.
I forget there is two styles round and square? right. ? gonna have to do some backtracking and search through some threads again! If only I could remember half of what I seem to forget

Yep that's th eonly difference we had noted about the 51 and 52 was that the air tube end is either square (51) or round (52) it depends on which connector you have on the tube - either will work for either year as the heater opening and duct opening were the same for both. The boot to flange shape was teh only difference.

Another member mentioned to me that the core outlets were spaced farther apart on the 52 heater as well, but I haven't seen one since to compare.

If you need info, pictures or help you can always write!

I'm glad you guys got together on that duct Denny! I'm looking forward to seeing your first rustproof repros!

cool looking heater! I have one like it but all surface rusted up. thought I found it was a 39+- but can't remember now?

I also like Julie's idea of covering the two blower motor screws on the Magic Air heaters with a horn button if you dont have the original cover, So I found this one to put on 51, anyone know what years this came from so I can look for another one?? for my 52, I hope this will fit.

Thanks

Josh

Hey Josh

I think it's off of a 54-56 F-Series.

Take a look:

The one I used is off a 49 Ford car and is a little bit bigger if yours doesn't cover

I like that button and think it would look perfect on a Magic Aire heater motor, but you might want to look for a good used one. New repops are between $40 and $60 depending on the vendor.
