2001 ST - how to install an infant seat BASE?
Hey All,
New addition to the family - need a rear-facing infant seat base in my truck in case I pick up the little stinker.
The wife's car has these nifty anchor loops down in the seam of the seat base/seat back that the base easily hooks to. My 2001 ST has no such loops, only the anchors on the rear wall of the vehicle, which do not work with the type of seat base that we have. I'm pretty handy yet I don't see how I can install this seat base.
The manual for the vehicle ONLY shows instructions for a forward-facing child seat, which utilizes the rear wall anchors.
Any ideas on how I can install this seat base in my truck?
Thanks for any help.

You may also be able to route the seat belt through hoops on the base, pull them tight, then pull the seat belt all the way out and start to retract it. This should lock the seat belt so that it won't release tension. Since you have a Sport Trac, you should not need to install the base in the front seat so no need to remind you to disable the passenger air bag.
