Iron-on Ford logos anyone?

I bought a softopper (like a cap, but made out of Jeep top canvas material)... anyways, it came with 3 patches advertising their website and I want to try to cover them with Ford logos or something else cool.. thought Iron-ons might work.
Thanks!

Welcome to FTE.

That topper sounds interesting. Any pictures?

As for iron on's, I don't think they would hold up out in the weather. Is what you're trying to cover up sewn on or painted on ?

Thanks for the welcome

I just added a couple of pictures to my profile. 1 of the soft topper.

They are sewn into it and can't be removed easily/without damage. I think for the amount I will have it on the truck I will take my chances with iron-ons.. the back one that evryone will see is a pretty good size. I understand you want to advertise but they look yuck.

Camelback I think made some for Best Top a few years ago. they were a slick idea, a frame with canvas that could come off in a couple of minutes or be rolled up to work around it.

If it's embroidered, a sharpie will wick into the threads and change the color. Once you get it to back ground color, it will be easier to tolerate. Vinyl cut decals and making a stencil to paint it with Vinyl/cloth dyes would be two other options I would at least think about.

I found some in the right colour, but they aren't large enough..

Just do a search for 'Ford logo/emblem iron on patch/patches' at everyone's favorite internet shopping spot.

thought I would post anyways in case someone else wants some.. good price and free shipping.

After looking at the company logos some more I think I could get away with taking them off and running some seam sealer over the inside of the holes afterwords.

What's this about vinyl cut decals and making a stencil ReAX? Can you point me in the right direction for such supplies? I am somewhat artsy and would like to customize this topper. Can you use vinyl dye on a vinyl stencil?? Now look what you've done! I already e-mailed a friend that works at a promotions place to see how big of stencils he can cut me.. while I was writing this. got ADD???

I was thinking about laying out a design on one of my covers and painting it with vinyl dye. A stencil would be easier for your project. There is no reason you couldn't make a stencil as large as you like. You can tape construction paper together, use poster board, unwrap paper bags. Then draw out your design, cut on your lines and you have a stencil.
