Different animals, but the bell housing pattern is the same, so it will bolt up.
However, unless the '93 is a 4x4, you are not going to be able to use the 4x4 trans without changing it to a 4x2 model, is it will be made to bolt to a transfer case, not attach to a drive shaft.
All other auto to stick issues will apply as well.
Are you just looking for OD? An AOD would probably be a bolt in.

It's not modular it's the Canadian Essex V6 4.2L OHV engine. And the 4.2L's hat the same pattern as the 4.9L. I believe.
