20" tires for 06

any suggestions for all terrain tires? '06 F150 FX4,stock 20in wheels. I'm thinking Cepek FCII, or Nitto terra grappler, and go up to 305/55/20> they should be fine right?

I personally feel that the 305's are a little too much tire for a stock 20x8.5" wheel. The added sidewall deflection is going to make things more unstable at highway speeds, which is probably the last thing you want in a truck with such a high center of gravity. Unless you're planning to going with a 9" or 10" wheel to accompany them, I'd consider something closer to the stock 275mm width.

You can get the Terra Grapplers in a 275/60/20, which will give you about 33" of height and fill in the wheel wells a little for a more 4X4 like look and they're about $40 cheaper per tire.

Another nice option would be the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's. I've had them on a previous truck and they're an excellent tire. Great all around traction, even wear, quiet on the highway, aggressive looking tread pattern and reasonably priced (about $80-$100 less per tire in comparison to the Nitto).

Your choice really....but whatever you decide, I'd reconsider the tire size on the stock wheels.

My 305/55/20 Nittos are fine on my 20x8.5 wheels. They ride better than the stock 275/55/20 tires that came on the truck.
FWIW, I also have a 2" leveling kit.

I'd think "fine" is a relative term. I won’t argue that they do look great on your truck, but your high speed stability has to be affected to some degree with that much section width?

How many miles have you got on them at this point and how are they wearing?

IMO, there isn't much sidewall on a 33" w/ a 20" rim so sidewall deflection isn't an issue.I'd agree if we were talking about A 35" or bigger. Also my Terra Grapplers are 9 ply so there isn't alot of flexing going on.They are more stable than the stock 275/55/20 were.
I have 10k miles on my tires and so far so good.
