1949 f6 carrier bearing

Ok guys so i need to replace the drive shaft carrier bearing on my 1949 f6... id really like to upgrade to a one peice unit if possible. I think the original parts are avalible nos still if thats not possible... i will pst in the 48 - 60 also incase someone there can help

I haven't got a good look at an F6 carrier bearing yet, but my '74 F100 had one. That said, a later style may work. That may be something your local driveline shop can tell ya about.

Was it pressed on? Do u think one with set screws would work?

I don't remember, it was a long time ago. I assume this truck you have was a 158" wheelbase? I just looked at a short version F6, and it didn't have a carrier bearing on it.

i think end to end it measured something like 19'
so that would make sense

I apologize, I did find a carrier bearing on my F6. I just didn't look forward enough. Now that I got it home, I was able to crawl underneath.

One option is going without the carrier bearing and run a bigger driveshaft like that of a late 70's Ford 4x4. You can get conversion u-joints at the local part store.

I cant go single shaft because of the mods i have done to the truck

C3AZ-7025-B (replaced 8A-7025) .. Driveshaft Center Support (carrier) Bearing / Stamped with BIN: X3204G or 15039 or 550010 or 550301 or 207L or 207LO

BIN: Bearing Industry Number, what autoparts stores/bearing shops go by.

Applications: 1948/52 F2/F3/F4/F5/F6 / 1953/56 F250/350.

Available from any autoparts store as it was also used as an output shaft bearing for Ford 3 speed manuals from 1949 thru 1987!
