Question about installing my 5" icon lift

I had a question for those of you with the 5" icon lift I got my front done today and I am finishing the rear tomorrow. The Insturctions don't say weather to keep the factory block or remove it with the new springs?

Remove it, you won't use it, don't need it. Someone here used it, but it isn't necessary unless you are running super tall tires. Then you will have to lift the front some more. I know you'll like the look without it.

Rear A/C lines need to be unbolted and shifted slightly to access Passenger side spring bolts. No other surprises. Happy Labor Day.

Hey x-hibition I have had my icon lift on for about a year now and I noticed my bottom three rear leaf springs have moved. I was just curious if yours have done this? I posted a new thread on this with some photos so you can see my situation I know you have helped me in the past. Thanks

I haven't seen your new thread but your post did make me walk outside. The bottom three leafs have no clamps on either pack, and my passenger side is fine. I did notice a slight offset on the largest of the three, but not much. I'll look at your pictures and see how I compare.

Or if you want to drive out we can see side by side...

Hey, old thread, I know, but I'm considering getting an Icon 5" spring lift for my X.

Wondering if you guys like your's having had it for a few years?

Also, have you towed with it? How much does the back squat with some tongue weight?

Thanks.

Wow, blast from my past.

My trailer towing experience is with my 6 x 12 Wells Cargo that I use for diving and camping. Even fully loaded the X doesn't even know it's there. So between the Icon and the RAS I have no back squat.

Just so you know, I went option crazy when I got my Icon kit. Dual front shocks with the hoop mount, dual front steering stabilizers, and I had the stock rear sway bar so extended links on all four corners.

Still love it.

You are running a RAS in addition to the 5" rear springs? Why did you do that instead of just the springs?

All of the reading about the RAS said that it was what I needed. Plus it gave me almost another inch lift so it looks even better than without.

I was just down in Mesa talking to Bullet Proof Diesel about my rig and they had just installed an Icon kit on one of their own vehicles and really liked it.

I love my icon lift best purchase I made. I was in the same boat you are in I researched for about 6 months before choosing icon. But I wanted the best product out there since I would be doing alot of towing and just for my familys safety. It came down to icon, bds, and skyjacker but people said bds and skyjackers springs were way to stiff plus they came with those cheap shocks that start to rust after a few months. All of icons parts come with a lifetime warranty even though I don't think I will need it because these are some american made quality parts I added on the dual shocks as well and the dual steering stabizers. People will say your just paying for the name but I love my system and haven't had any problems. Here are some pictures of what some of the parts look like now after about 4 years in my gallery I should have some before and after pics

Whats up x-hibition been a while, if you ever have time you should post a picture of your ras because you got me interested in it now.
