And with that

I think it would be wise to see how these play out for a year or 2 before I would run out and get one

i agree to a certain extent. i am thinking that the engineers knew the complications that could arrive with them and compensated with the correct placement and amount of fasteners needed to keep them sitting securely on the block. but then again it seems that when i "think" i get into trouble....haha

I remember the 5.4 when they first came out and the troubles they had with those heads..

I can see the same happening with these

Kenworth is starting off with a positive reputation.
I hate to see what a 2011 diesel truck will cost it may not be worth buying one. H*ll your not buying one for fuel mileage the days are long gone for that benefit.

Yeahhh Look what happen when the 6.4's came out and the price of those went up 6 grand just the motor alone..

And they got the worse mileage out of all Power Strokes ever built..

I use to get great mileage with my 7.3 Power stroke but ever sense they have messed with the fuel formular in the past few years

That hasn't been the same

My 03 6.0 gets 12-12.5 mpg being its a F-450 that weighs 9800lbs which is pretty good my old 7.3 PSD never could get past 12mpg and the truck weighed 1000lbs less.

Yeh this new diesel is supposed to get better mileage then the old. But that remains to be seen. Buying this new diesel I wouldnt be afraid off it. I guess its no worse then a Ford guy buying a Dodge or a Chevy. Now that really is scary.

I think it has had aluminium heads from the begining and hasn't had any problems with it.

I don't want to always be a hater, but other than the 7.3 the Powerstroke line has not exactly been reliable. Other than the 6.2 diesel, I can't think of an engine that more consistantly broke down.

I think the main problem with the 6.6 was injector failure and they extended the warranty on those to 200K.

I agree and that is why I am not going to let my 7.3 go...
