I'm also waiting on clarification on weather cab removal will be required for engine repairs. If cab removal is required, then that's just an added expense since the 100k warranty only lasts a couple of years with me. And I'm one of those that likes to hang on to a truck instead of replacing it every couple of years.
Good NEWS! Just finished watching a FORD 6.7L slide presentation (thread here at FTE). They talked about the service factor...

Sounds good to me, but only time will tell for sure.
I would have to say that I most likely wont buy one in the first year, not saying that because I just bought two 6.4's. I think Ford might have a good motor here but until its proven i'll let someone else be the ginny pig
If I were in the market for a new truck, I would buy first year no questions asked. Of course, the fact that I just bought a 2008 just 1 year ago, gives me a good excuse to NOT consider the 2011 first year...haha.
Absolutely not. First I haven't seen a truely reliable Ford diesel since the 7.3. It seems like the tech and power are ahead of the durability. Second, after what I've seen in my experience with an early 6.4 there is no chance, especially with Ford's first try in a while.

-The 6.7 sounds great on paper, we'll see how it works out in real life.
-Shame they are dropping the 6.8. Really wish they would drop the 5.4, add the 6.2 and give the 6.8 variable cams.
-6R140 sounds awesome.
-New exterior is not so hot. Don't like grill or front end in general.

I never have nor will I ever buy anything that is a first year production run. Will wait to see and read the forums over the next two years before I make a decision to buy.
I voted yes because if I were in the market for a new truck I would buy one. However, my 2008 should be around for a while as it is really proving itself to be an excellent truck. 51,000 miles so far with minimal problems. I almost voted no in the poll however, because the thought of ordering a new trcuk without the options I want- i.e. the handshaker, bothers me. The manual mode might be alright, I'll have to test drive one before I would commit to purchase.

I think Ford will increase there market share with this new truck. Im really liking what i am seeing out here so far. This could be the biggest thing since the 7.3 powerstroke hit the market in mid 94. I think the competition better be worried this truck will definitly put Ford way ahead off the pack. I for one will definily buy one the first year out. I cant wait to see one in person. Wish I was at the Texas state fair now.
I would have no problem buying a first year diesel made by ford. They have been building diesels over sea's for sometime. Since it is a in house motor, there is no blame game and problems should be correct quickly. Though I do hope Ford thinks about making it a Locked ECM design.
Makes you wonder? Maybe Ford decided to discontinue the V-10 at this particular time to boost sales of their 6.7 diesel? The 6.2 gasser just isn't going to be a suitable replacement for the V-10. The 6.2 is a better option as the minimum motor for a Superduty.
The way I see it, if you need a new SD in 2010/11, you don't have much choice but to be a 6.7 beta tester.

The V10 is only being discontinued on the 250/350's. The 450/550 will still have the V10 as standard.
