I just bought a 12 volt hydrualic punp with 4 cylinders from a wheel chair lift system. I was hoping someone else has tried to do this. I have more pictures in my gallery on the brackets I made. Thanks Tim.

Slide forward than tilt? Yeah there is a guy on here who's done that to his '56, all automatic, very slick.

Sonds very adaptive. The slide forward then up is a function of camming at the brackets. There have been discussions with pictures here on FTE but I don't have them saved. I'm sure the guys who have done it will chime in.

Speaking of chiming, I once did this on a 53, the rams were parallel to the ground and pushed the front forward on rollers, halfway through the travel the ''cam action'' took over and raised the front, we also used a trigger on the pitman arm to disable the mechanism if the front wheels weren't pointed straight ahead, it wouldn't be a good idea to push the front end forward and have the rear fender opening catch on the tire. Good luck, post photos
