Intermittent stalling while driving. I just got AE.

good evening everyone hope everyone is well and having a wonderful labor day weekend. I'm still having a stalling issue. it started a couple of weakends ago when my truck died on the freeway. It showed all the signs of a cps failure so I picked one up. Got one from Napa, truck started ran fine for almost 24 hours, died again. Got another cps from Kragen, it lasted just over 24 hours. That Monday I got a cps from ford and it died once last week but restarted. Tonight it died three times in 18 miles. I lock the torque converter most the time once I am rolling and when the truck dies if I pump the go pedal it will refire, but no overdrive untill I cycle the key.

I did get AE but don't know what all it is telling me or what to look for or at. These are my trouble codes when I got home tonight: P1249, P0743, P0475. I did have my lap top with me tonight and had my wife connect it while I was still driving, AE brout up 5 other codes but my laptop battery died so I lost the data. One of the codes was ICP high/low performance(while running), or something close to that. Another one was either P0603 or P0605, I have seen both lately P0605 I get when I do a KOEO test. I also get P0541 but I asume that is because I removed the IAH. On a KOER test I get P0476 and P0541. Cylender contribution test I get P0269, P0284, and P0541.

Sorry about all the reading but I wanted to try and include all that I can think of that might be helpful. Thanks in advance

The first step when diagnosing is always pull the chip and set the truck back to stock to rule that out. A loose chip can cause the stalling issue.

Since the CPS didn't seem to be the problem, I would get the aftermarket ones out and put the Ford one back in. The parts store CPS have caused enough problems themselves. Of couse look at the simple stuff, like oil level and condition, fuel level and filter condition.

I just had this problem yesterday and it was my chip, like F350-6 said. Pull that first, clear your codes and see if it improves.

I pulled the chip and it still has a choppy idle and a light throttle stumble, as well as alot less power. It did not die but that is so intermittent that I didn't really excpect it to. The oil is almost due to be changed but the stumble has been there through the last 2 changes so I don't think that it is the oil. When I got back I hooked up AE and pulled P0470, P0475, and P0541.

I was just under the hood with it running and when I push on the ICP electrical connection. Bad sensor or electrical?

So I went back out and started the truck, and everytime I push the top of the ICP towards the back of the truck it dies. I have another ICP that I pulled out last winter that I am going to put back in and see what happens. I will also try to take a closer look at the plug.

are you talking about pushing on the ICP sensor wiring and it dies??? take a look at the plug and see if there is any oil in there... sometimes that causes it to short..

There is no oil. When I push on the plug it will die. I have narrowed it down to the blue/white wire. If I hold the wire against a tube so it can't move and wiggle the harness side nothing happens, without letting go of the wire I wiggled the plug end and the motor died. So I am pretty sure that the blue/white wire is shorting in the plug.

Good morning everyone. Happy Labor Day. I pulled the plug out of the back of the connector for the ICP and don't see anything. All three wires hace about the same play in them nothing is touching. The stacks are a bit loud to fire off this early. I was thinking of filling the connector with dielctric grease and seeing if that helps.
