Possibly buying my first classic truck

Hey guys,

First just wanted to say "hi." I am new to the forum.

I have my eye on a '57 F-100 that is in my opinion a pretty solid truck. The truck came from NC and has been sitting a few years. It has a 302 w/auto trans and 9" rear end. The body is 99% flawless. It is painted flat black, shaved door handles, frenched antenna, etc. The truck starts up and runs with ease. I have got the guy down to $3500 on the price with a few boxes or spare parts (glass, moldings, weather stripping, bumpers, mirrors, etc).

I haven't priced out a classic vehicle before. People have told me its hard to justify a price on something like that and that it ultimately lies in the eye of the beholder.

I would just like to get some feedback from you guys.

Thanks,
Greg

Welcome to FTE!! Any pics or links to pics would help in justifying a price. But without seeing, if it's been built once already, and everything is good, then $3500 isn't too bad. And I believe big back windows will be even more worth it.

No pics yet. I am taking my neighbor to see the truck on Monday. He is a big gear head. I will have pics then (maybe even the truck if all goes well).

So I slept like a little kid om Christmas Eve last night...

Getting ready to head out with my neighbor and look at the truck again. Taking a deposit with me since I can't grab all of the money out of the bank today for the truck (damn holidays!).

I will be bringing back at least some pics and hopefully some good news that I will be picking up the truck later this week.

Just bought it! I took my gear head neighbor over to see the truck this morning and he told me within 2 minutes of looking at the truck that I wouldn't find anything this clean or solid for the money. So here are some pics
