my old Aero girl
has added large mud flaps on the rear to keep her big hips and rear end clean.
cute set of added eyes, combo running fog lamps. she love the different colors.
she has extra electrical power from her added battery, she loves to go camping and show off her stuff.
she has a beautiful voice now with the IPod interface to her electronics.
she has a big set of shoes in the garage that she seldom wears out, they look like Army boots, not becoming of a lady.
and her hair and face just shine in the sun with the special Meguiar's makeup her boyfriend buys her.
oh, and she likes to run fast with the big boys on the freeway. she always has been such a hottie and wiggle her behind at them as she flashes by.
Just curious what mods you have done and what do you plan on doing to your Aero?
Rear HD shocks, and newer, used springs from a cargo van (stiffer)
Front end rebuilt 30K ago (using new cargo van stuff)
Rebuilt transmission 20K ago - supposedly tougher than stock
Larger capacity Battery (also Redid the ground cable to battery)
Newer Panasonic Cassette player (1998 vintage!)
Visonik 3 way 6x9's, rest of speakers are stock
Class 2 Trailer hitch & wiring
Center console
Tachometer (Princess Auto)
LED Taillights (bulb replacement from E-Bay Japan)
3rd Brake Light (aftermarket found in Salvation Army(!))
Halogen back-up lights (Canadian Tire)
Additional Transmission Cooler
Freer-flowing cat-back exhaust
More sound deadener under carpet
Wider than stock Firestone RWL LT tires (still 14")
In the future I might add a Transmission temp gauge, but I find looking at the temp gauge in the dash is a good indication of overall heat. A vacuum guage might be nice for fuel economy. Might get rear buckets as they'd fit better with what we need the van for.
Hey, warning about LED tail lights. I used to have them up till very recently. They worked fine till my third brake light, which was incandescent, burned out. The brake circuit is biased with a constant 3V source. It is not enough to cause the lights to come on, but the computer uses it as a reference. An incandescent bulb will drain away the 3V signal, causing he computer to see that the brakes are working properly. If the brake lights are burned out, the computer will see that the brakes are on all the time, and all that implies. The computer will not engage the TC lockup if it sees the brakes are on. In order to prevent this from happening. you need to either use incandescent bulbs, or wire resistors that will simulate a real bulb.
This is very serious, my LED tail lights cost me a transmission. I had to rebuilt my trans the second time with only 50,000 miles on it. It failed because it overheated because the TC lockup would not engage. If the computer does not sense a load on the brake circuit, it will not engage the TC. Also the cruise will not work.
good one Bear,
we need to get that one in a sticky.
will save someone some big bucks
LEDs are common upgrades on rigs.
i keep forgetting it. went to a mudder rally and one of the guys warned me about my LED brake lights, several manufacturers use this jury rig system to control power train functions. I'd just left the ballast resistors out because i had been short of time.
had to open things up and put them in.
If you had E4WD, you will also get an error light if the RABS senses that the brake lights are out. So this is bad; brake lights going out will take out RABS, E4WD, CC, and TC lockup.
