Dual tank/pump reservoir

'89 F250, 5.8L, 2wh/drive, auto. Looking for a replacement dual funtion reservoir (6 outlet). Ford dealer has them but they want an arm and a leg. I thought I remembered a post on here with a link to a vendor that had them at a much better price, anyone know what vendor it is?

If not, what year trucks can mine interchange with? 87-89? I need to know so that I can take a look at the JY if I can't get the part.

Thanks

Yes the 87-89 F-series (the 86 had one but it has a filter and another valve in it but would work) and the 88-90 E-series with two tanks.

Most common is the return fuel from the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) will also go into the front tank while running on the rear tank and cause it to over flow.
If tested with more than 5 PSI air pressure the diaphragm can be ruptured but mostly stuck "O" rings from not being used (or switching tanks regularly).

When you can not switch tanks most of the time it is the in the tank fuel pump or its in the tank hose. If not that then the switch on the dash along with its wiring and plugs.

Some have reported junk inside the valve but the in tank filter or hose would have to be bad to do that.

Fits far more than that, see all the replaced part numbers in post #2.

Info from the 1980/89 & 1990/2002 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalogs.

1980/89 parts catalog shows E7TZ9B263A replaced by FOUZ9B263A, type this puppy into the in-house Ford Dealer Parts Locator System, you get this:

FOUZ9B263A replaced by F1UZ9B263A replaced by F1UZ9B263B.

The years in Post #2 are not right.
The last year the selector valve was used in the E-series was 1990. The 1991 had high pressure in tank pumps and no valve at all in the fuel system.
The last year for this type selector valve on the F-series was in 1989, the 1990 F-series also went to the high pressure in tank pump also and did not use a any valve at all.

The Diesels in later years did you use a valve but not this type of valve, it was motorized.

Thanks. Part # F1US9B263B is going to be the actual part, right? I'm looking to replace the entire part and not just servicing kit.

In the 1980/89 parts catalog, it says E7TZ9B263A was replaced by FOUZ9B263A.

Type FOUZ9B263A into the in-house Ford Dealer Parts Locator System, it says FOUZ9B263A was replaced by F1TZ9B263A, which was replaced by F1TZ9B263B.

FITZ9B263B is what my 1990/2002 Ford truck parts catalog (on fiche) lists for all the 1990 and later applications I typed above.

You have these same parts catalogs, as I recall...take a look-see at basic part number 9B263...what do you see?

I am not trying to argue with you or say what you are writing is not what your catalogs are saying.
And yes that is what my fiche says also, but what they are saying is not correct is all that I am saying.
If he wants to go to a salvage yard and find one he will only find one on the trucks that I listed above.
If Ford put one of those on the other years like the fiche lists it was not in this country, maybe Australia.

As far as I know after 1990 Ford did not put a selector valve on any Ford product sold in the US other than the motorized valve on the the Diesels Trucks. I have looked through all the Ford shop manuals for all the years after 1990 and none of them show a selector valve other than for the Diesels.

Dual pump reservoir recieved (thanks Ed @ Y2K), and installed and truck is up and running. The bad is that I replaced a bunch of fuel supply items chasing this issue. The good is that I replaced a bunch of fuel supply items chasing this issue.

So now I know that all three of my fuel pumps are brand new as well as my dual pump reservoir, both tanks are clean, and new socks on each pump. Shouldn't have any fuel delivery problems any time soon.

Thanks again

1986 Ford F150 XLT lariat 302 5.0

Wish I would have found this thread before all my fuel issues. I wanna thank all the guys for helping out and sticking together as Ford Truck Owners. I replaced the rear fuel tank and fuel pump assembly myself pretty cheap. Paid a lot of money to have the front tank fuel assembly replaced and still had fuel issues. I think I finally have it after chasing gremlins. This Dual Function Reservoir sounds exactly like my problem thanks to a lot of reading. Leonard, my truck is a beast and With only 145,000 miles for an 86 I'd like to keep him running for many years to come. Will post after part comes in from Y2kFordparts.com, probably the best prices anywhere... 113.80 anywhere else was over 200... Thanks Guys Mike C Grandy NC
