i have a 97 f250 psd when driving the gauge stays in normal range but fluctuates up and down.It never goes too low or too high is this a sign of an oil pump problem or just a gauge issue any help?????

well I will say this, the oil pressure gauge on our trucks is not a pressure gauge at all but is more of a glorified idiot light. (on/off) I was very disappointed when I found this out. I would check the electrical connection to the oil pressure sensor. the 7.3 requires high pressure lube oil in order to fire the injector so if your engine is running, its got oil pressure. I wouldn't worry too much about that gauge. if you really want to know oil pressure I would install a mechanical gauge.
