Will a 2009 F150 crew cab 4x4 with the 5.4L be able to handle a sled deck with two sleds plus people and gear? The sled weighs ~300 lbs and the sleds ~500 each. My concern is the payload. Any advice?

 

Dood I own a 2004 5.4 i put a yard of wet sand (2200pounds) in my box and it sits level, to be honest i don't even know the weight is back there. Fords payload for 2009 is 3050pounds properly equipped

 

well if you study up on your payload and get the right truck yes...like my truck that is all loaded up and short wheel base only has a 1000 lb payload where some other will have the 3000lb payload but not all trucks so you have to look hard

most poeple i've seen doing what you said with a slide deck use 3/4 ton trucks or higher but they also have two large four wheelers which i think weight more
