94 7.3 Factory Turbo golw plug removal

What is the easiest way to remove the passenger side rear glow plug under the turbo housing.

Does anyone have any tricks they've use?

Or is removing the turbo to get to it the only way?

I changed mine without removing the turbo, but I used a motley collection of 1/4" socket extensions, universal joints, and long pliers. My hands still hurt from all shapes I had to twist them into to get it done.

Yes, i did the same thing, I had wobbles with extension, with more wobbles and more extensions, maybe i should of added a needle nose pliers to that and I could have gotten i out. ya i hear ya on the hand contortionist on that project.lol

I changed all except that one, I gave up. I have no idea what brand or how old that glow plug is, as I'm probably not the first to give up on it.

I use a wrench, a piece of fuel line, and a set of bent nose needle nose pliers.

Getting the electrical connector off and back on is the hardest part in my opinion.

Wow, using a peice of fuel line is a mean trick.

I couldn't agree more about the electrical connector.

Thats funny, I did the same thing a couple of years ago, but I put in the autolites then. That was before I new much about these trucks. now that I have the right ones (ZD9's) on the way, i figured I get some guidance before tackling it again and make sure I don't leave that one, who knows how long that one has been overlooked.

Hey everyone. I am looking for a little direction and I would imagine everyone has an opinion. I need a new IP and injectors for a 93 7.3 IDI non turbo engine. This is a farm truck that I love but it isnt a high performance vehicle at all. I just dont want crap. So, my question is what is a trustworthy, reputable online shop that I should buy from that wont be trying to upsell me on something I dont need.

Any guidance is much appreciated. Also, if this post should have gone somewhere else, my bad.

moose pumps or R&D performance
Mel at conestoga diesel for the moose pumps:
www.conestogadiese
Justin at R&D:
https://idiperformance.com
they are the only two companies i would trust for a reman injector pump. everyone ells cleans and puts a little lipstick on a pig and sells it. these two guys do a TOTAL rebuild. and stand behind their products.
