Given free Weld Renegade 20" off H2... & Intro...

Hello all! I am new to this forum and quite look forward to gathering the knowledge that I am sure the forum is full of.

As a payment for some work I have done for a buddy he gave me the old wheels off of his 03 H2. They are 20" and 9.5" wide with 8 lugs (I imagine in a GM bolt pattern?). I own a 2002 2WD V6 F-150 fleet vehicle. It is entirely stock with the exception of a K&N air filter and has just over 50k miles. I was curious if there is any way to use these on my F-150? I suspect if it is possible it would involve wheel adapters.. in which case I have to ask if this is safe and/or smart? The wheels will have to be powder coated as the chrome has peeled pretty bad! So the idea of shelling out another $100-$150 per wheel for adapters is not the way that I want to go about things.. but if that is what it takes then that is what I will do. I really don't want the guy who gave them to me to see that I have not used them if it is at all possible that they can be used. Thank you in advance for any input and help! ~FATALII

EDIT.. The wheels are in fact Renegade XT's and the bolt patterns are 5x135 (Ford) and 8x165.1 (H2)

your first thought is right. it is not a good idea to use adaptors to bolt rims onto a different pattern. tell the guy your stuck, and thinking of selling the rims or trading for a set that you can use.

What steve said. The use of adapters will have added stress to the hubs and is not recommended.

I would try posting them on craigslist or ebay.

Thanks for the input guys! I have just one more question. Would I be better off selling them as they sit or would it be better to spend the $300-$400 to have the wheels stripped of the chrome and have them powder coated in black. I made several phone calls before I realized that they would not fit my truck and found out that no one in town would do the plating "in-house". Apparently they would have to shipped out of town to be done. That is what lead me to the conclusion that I would be best off stripping and powder coating them. I was given the following prices; $110 to strip the set and "roughly" $50 each to have them powder coated. Not to mention that I personally much prefer the look of "blacked-out" wheels than shiny chrome! At least on my truck... Just a little too flashy for me and my taste. If nothing else I at least recognize that I am not cool enough to pull off chrome wheels! Again, Thanks for the help! I truly do appreciate it! ~ FATALII

i dont know what you could get for them after repairs, but personally i would not invest another $400. in a loosing proposition. best to sell them now for what you can get and move on.
