tortured it with some sand paper... and one of them drill attachment paint stripper wheels...

 

Are you repainting the whole car?

 

nope... just a specific spot under the hood.... was under there cleaning stuffs... and noticed something up with the paint that wasnt there before.... something rough.... picked at it and it came off in thick chips.... when i got the chips off... i found some small spots of rust... so something had eaten through the paint and was starting on the metal panel under neath...

 

Man that rust can get anywhere!! It's amazing where rust can start and if not taken care of, it can mess up some medal!!

 

yup... once its starts its hard to get rid of it... i dunno what was eating through the paint... but it did a great job at it...

 

Did you paint the car originally?

 

nope facotry did it... and then sections of it were repainted later due to accidental damages... (side swiped by school bus.. accidently backing into something i couldnt see in mirrors, opening the door into a pole on a very very VERY bad day) but those were all on the opposide side of the car where i found the stuff today...

 

Might have a pop in the paint, where it was hit or dented? Just guessing!! LOL

It mat have been there when they painted it at the factory!!

 

other than the rear bumper the repainted sections are still looking great... like i said this spot was on the opposite side from all that stuff...

and i know it wasnt there when they painted it at factory (and after the other sections were repainted) cuz ive been under the hood several times to clean... this showed up sometime recently between the last time i cleaned under there and this time..

 

Well quit cleaning it, let it get dirty!! LOL
