i was wondering if the front springs on my fx4 were the bigger ones like what they put on with the plow prep package.

They are not the same springs

 

No. Options like the snow plow prep, the stabilizer, heavy service suspension, and camper packages will modify springs, but the FX4's (both the option package & newer trim levels) get the same springs as any other Super Duty.

I asked a Ford parts guy about this the last time I was at the dealer.
He told me that the front springs and struts are diferent then a XL or XLT.

 

but how different? maybe more coils? or stiffer? i did see a reasonably priced set of air bag struts.. but i think if you want any automation in it so you dont have to air them up manually they really rape you...
