as for the parts match.....When I want to check out if a particular part from another year will fit, I will go to a parts site, like rockauto and compare parts numbers.
I am not sure if that part is a dealer only part or not, but I would at least check to see if you can find it cheaper. I remember it being around 50 bucks i think. Everything is pricey at the stealerships.

it was a broken sprag in the overdrive, im having a guy rebuild for me because h quoted me 350+parts to rebuild my tranny AND i can watch his worker do the rebuild

well i had it completely rebuilt. found that the silonid body was damaged, the overdrive sun gear was not there anymore and that the overdrive planet was burned up. ordered a heavy duty overhaul kit, heavy duty/stock stall torque conver, electronic shift kit and a couple other things to it. its works really really well now. best its ever been since i owened the truck. so everything is good now, now i have to raise the motor and replace the oil pan gasket. now i have almost 2100 miles on it and i dont have a single complant about the tranny, except it didnt help my gas milage any, lol.

all said and done it was 1500
