This is the second time in the past month or so that somebody has indicated that the heads on a Ranger 3.0L FFV (ethanol) are different than those from a standard gasoline 3.0L.

Prior to that, I had never heard of or been made aware of any such differences, and so right now I am still inclined to believe that there aren't any.
A methanol-based 3.0L, however, is a different story: http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Arti...rd_30l_v6.aspx
One important difference that I am aware is the fuel injectors. When swapping a regular gasoline 3.0L into a FFV application, you will need to keep the FFV fuel injectors, since they are larger than the gasoline injectors.
