Low side port on F250

I got an 2003 F-250 truck.

It's my first truck,so I don't know much about it.

I need to recharge my A/c so I need to know whre is the low side or low pressure por so I can recharge it.

Thank you!

Pictures will be helpful,please.

Passenger side of the engine compartment near the firewall. Look for the accumulator, which is cylindrical, about 3.5 inches in diameter and 8-10 inches long, made of aluminum. Some are wrapped in a black insulating foam. The low pressure port is there, with a black cap on it.

Hi, I also need to recharge the a/c on my 00 f350. Do you add the refrigerant with the engine running? & is the a/c supposed to be on or off while you do it? Thanx

Engine has to be running. a.c. must be running set it at coldest temp. and fan on high. It is touchy adding 134a freon. Too much freon and it will go the other way and start to get hotter. At the minumum stick a thermometer in one of the vents and add freon a little at a time, stoping to check the reading on the thermometer to make sure it is getting colder.Take your time it isn't like the old R-12 systems.
Total evacuation of the system and filling with the use of scales, and filling to the factory specs. is the best way. but most of us can't afford the equipment.
