2003 f250 super duty door ajar problem
i know this has been addressed before, so one more time won`t hurt will it.
i bought a crew from a dealer, all the dome lites and cargo lights had the bulbs removed, so i put them back in and of coarse they all stayed on after you close the door, plus the door ajar light stays on when you are driving. i tried the wd thang, didn`t work. i do notice the radio shuts off when you open the door after you turn off the ignition. does that work on the same door switch, elinating those? also are there switches on the rear doors also? noticed that the radio isnt effected when you open a rear door. i tried to get the dealer to look at it a day after i took it home, a ford dealer at that, and they told me they tried to figure it out , and couldn`t before they sold me the truck. doesnt say much for their service department. any help? thanks. tracy

Keep spraying about every week, not til its dripping all over, just a shot or two. After a while (mine took about a month and a half) and you will have no more door adjar light. I would hit all the latches since they will all activate the overhead light. On suicide doors (CC) there is a latch on top also, not sure you have those or 4 regular doors.
Once the door adjar light goes out you can replace the bulbs. Hopefully before DLS takes effect and it gets dark just after noon.
It's normal for the radio to stay on until you open the door.

Sounds like it may be one of the rear door switches. They will send a door ajar signal to the indicator light, dome and cargo lights. But I don't think they affect the radio, which explains why your radio stays on, as it should, until one of the front doors is opened.
I just performed this service on the driver's side door of my truck and it fixed the problem. Figure out which door is the culprit, in your case likely one of the rear doors. Then remove the switch and flood it with WD40 while working the plunger at the tip of the switch. To do the WD thing right you really need to get to the switch directly.

Hate to bring up an old thread but exactly where is the switch located? I have an 06 and cannot find any switch. Is it integrated with something else? Is it inside the door?

I believe that the switch is inside the door as part of the latching assembly. You will have to take the interior door panel off to get at the switch, which should be affixed to the latching assembly.

Well after finally figuring out how to remove the plug from the switch, it's the front passenger side that's bad. Was able to remove the switch and free it up. I then broke it while putting it in..ughhh! New one came in today, I'll get it installed sometimes next week.
How the hell do you remove the key lock linkage?

you can replace the door ajar switch without taking the latch off, as well as the power door lock actuator that's hugging he latch.
temporary fix
the ajar switch is located at the lower opning where the hook is, you can use a brake clean with straw and aim it in that hole, then open and close door many times...or you could do it manually with a screwdriver.
to replace the switch, turn it a qtr turn..you can only go one way per side with the connector on to get leverage.
sometimes the spring inside the switch breaks, then spraying don't help

I broke the nub off mine too but it's only a 20$ part so no big deal.
Leave the handle and lock all together. Take the three T-27 screws out and it will give you enough room to get your hand in there. Also there is one 10mm bolt holding the window track in place. Take that out too to give you room as well
