Distroy evil PATS
Re: 2003 Ford Escape PATS
I have a huge PATS problem. About 5 times a wk, my PATS kicks-in and disables my car for approx 1 hr. I put the key in the ignition and the engine just dies. After 55 min (I can time it like clockwork) my car will re-start. If I try to restart it anytime before, the timer resets and I have to wait 55 min again. Huge issue for me as I never know when it will strike. It is not safe!
I have had every my certified Ford Mechanic look at it countless times and they can not fix the problem. I have replaced the keys, rebooted the system, changed O2 sensor etc, Nothing works!
Can disable my PATS? If not, is there a way to bypass it, or at the very least install a kill switch?
Please Help. My local dealers can't help anymore...

Welcome to FTE!
I've got a by-pass kit here I'm looking at, it seems to program the module equipped with the kit. After doing this, the module should act as a "taped-on" key. This method requires (2) two programmed keys to work.
You should be able to find this kit at any well stocked car audio vendor that carries Audiovox or DEI products. The p/n of the kit I'm looking at is ASXK04
Or
I would seek another dealer or even a locksmith equipped to handle the PATs system.
