With my 1979 bias ply tires, should be no issue!

I hope to never need a 1 inch!

Belated thanks Bill for the advice (a year ago) on the fan clutch (replaced the 26th). Much cooler engine when pulling a trailer slowly uphill. We were camping this weekend.

Trailer handled flawlessly and no more leaky.

6 foot lift kit??

Aidric and I got to experience a 6 foot lift kit on the Excursion yesterday. I think the starter is kaput.

The guy must have been in a hurry, I thought safety-wise it's unwise to let us ride in the vehicle, but we travelled only a mile.

Nice view from up there.

We got towed once in my '88 F150. They pulled us backwards, with the rear wheels on the hook, on US395. Backwards at highways speeds is, well, interesting at the least. Fortunately just a few miles into Bishop.

likely the f650 for 750 only has one passenger seat... so a loose person in the cab is probably worse than 2 strapped down in the strapped down vehicle... this reason is why your seeing more and more tow company's setting up crew cab trucks.

i hate the ride of shame on the tow truck sean! hope ya get it fixed up soon!

Remember, Sean, HAVE YOURS REBUILT!

Do NOT go with a "lifetime guarantee" rebuild from a parts house!

The only "guarantee" you'll get is that you'll be replacing it, over and over.

Yours is the Mitsubishi starter. They are a very good design, and very reliable. Yours likely failed as a result of a solenoid contact failure. The solenoids are available separately as a service part if you wanted to try that first.

This reminds me that I should probably pull mine and go through it. It's got over 220,000 miles on it.

I use Pacific Exchange Parts Rebuilders in Canoga Park.
Pacific Exchange Parts Rebuilders, Inc. - Auto Part Remanufacturing

HOWEVER: The electrical guy, Gary, has retired since I last used them, and he was the reason (I believe) that they were so good at things. You told Gary you didn't want it "cheapest" but "best", and that's the way you got it.

I never had an issue with them, at all, and will still give them a call if/when I need something.
