More Help On Tranny Fuse blowing.

Hey all I posted earlier about the tranny in my 01 Ex v10 having a transmission problem. The show looked at it and found the O2 sensor had shorted out and in some way sending the truck in to limp home causing the tranny fuse to blow????

Anyway they fixed it or so they said and I drove it for a few hours and it did fine. The next morning I drove it and it blew the fuse. (under hood box I belive #19) I took it back to the shop and they beat and banged on it....got it wet etc. and can not get it to do it again. I know whe have an electrical issue but what all runs off of the fuse that controlls the tranny?

Is there any online wiring diagrams of excursions or superduty drive trains? Do you have any ideas of where all to look for the problem????

Thanks

resolution?

I've got the exact same problem, blowing fuse #19, thing barely running etc. did you ever figure it out? Going to try and replace the Output Speed Sensor tomorrow. Don't know if that would cause a short and blown fuse, but maybe....let me know...thanks

Guys, take the plastic surround off your steering column and check for worn or exposed wires coming from the Overdrive switch. This is famous for creating many different "symptoms", blown fuses especially. And the worn or exposed wiring is happening to a very large number of Excursions nationwide.

Here's a picture in a thread about the problem....

Thanks VASheriff
Took care of the O/D wire not to long ago as it was causing a blown fuse in the fuse box under steering wheel, fuse 19.

Now this is a different problem. The 19 fuse, 25Amp, under the hood blows everytime I power up the car, don't even have to crank the engine. Since it pops before I start, and is the fuse for the tranny, suspect the tranny's crap performance is due to the disrupted circuit. No idea what to do next.....appreciate the advice on the worn O/D wire as I have been a victim too.

Did we ever get an answer to this one, I have exactly the same problem, and It appears to be the o2 sensor, but how to keep if from eating the o2 sensors.

Thanks

Solved: Found bare wire leading to o2 sensor, wrapped in black electrical tape, life is great.
