Fuel Injector Coil Voltage

Does anyone know what the pulse voltage is that goes to the fuel injectors to open them? I have heard that it is 3 Volts DC. I have some old injectors out of a 4.9 and I would like to experment with them.

They're 12V coils. The computer always sends them power, but only grounds them momentarily to open them.
