ok...found my fuel leak...

The last owner over tightened the fuel cap on top of the motor...and cracked it on top....so diesel oozes out.....what do you all think....can that be glued or should I just get another one? TIA...Garth

You talking about the cover over the fuel filter? If so you need to replace it - the possibility of leaking diesel or taking in air is not something you want to risk. They aren't expensive to replace and worth the peace of mind. Make sure you get a new o-ring gasket with the cover and you'll be good to go. Might as well replace the fuel filter while your at it if you are anywhere close to the 15k interval.

Not the Ford ones, if you use anything else, you're risking an engine failure becuase those aftermarket parts just don't fit the same way Ford's do. As I've said before, the quality is often imitated, but NEVER duplicated.
