how big of a camper?

Ok, this is a question for a friend who just so happens to have an identical F150 as me only difference is his is an 04 heritage and mine is 99. He is wanting to get a small pull behind camper. Ford says it can pull 3200# which is pretty wimpy lol and not much for a camper. Was wondering what does 3200# get you for a camper? Or any real life figures from anyone with a similar F150 who has pulled a camper.

Reg Cab / short bed / V6 / 3.55 / 4x4

I'm looking for a camper trailer too but with my new rig I am not to worried about weight

I had a 2000 f150 5.4 4x4 and pulled a 6000lb 5th wheel + stuff. I did have issues on long grades, but other than that it was fine.

Well 5th wheel is kinda out of the question I would think with the short bed and thats way over the rating of his truck. Your truck must have had a much higher capacity I would amagine.

3200 pounds for a camper wouldn't that put you at a medium sized pop-up trailer camper? or a smaller camper in general with a v6 he or she will more than likely have problems with hills and stuff and getting up to speed.

That could be but he does not want a pop up. We were looking on some websites and did find a couple smaller ones that might work, think they were like 18 foot and a little under 3000 dry. I think he is realizing he aint getting much... and also does not want to buy a new truck or an RV. I dont know what he really expected.

get a camper that he likes and cut weight. take out parts of it you don't need and what not lol. that's a bit extreme and i don't think it's possible but i was only kidding. you're right you're not going to get much.
