Stock to Solid Cam

Stock to Solid Cam
I have a ford 400m. I assume the stock camshaft on the engine is a hydraulic cam. I unfortunately purchased a 32-237-4 comp cam camshaft on EBAY without considering the differences in solid and hydraulic . What else on the valvetrain will I need to replace to make use of this new camshaft. Thanks for the help.

You will have to have the heads machined for studs and guide plates to get adjustable valve train. Crane Cams used to make a kit that didn't require machine work but they are out of business now. You will need to upgrade you valve springs as well. If you decide to have the heads machined for studs and guide plates I would get a set of aussi heads or a least some genuine 351C 2V heads with out the emissions ports, the stock heads really aren't worth the investment.
