I've got a garage full of tools and didn't have a torque wrench that could go past 150ft/lb.

So, I just had the shop check the torque on all the bolts.
Yeah I had access to a torque wrench that I could use that went up high enough.

I believe the lower nut was 250 ft/lbs.

Mainly people get a leveling kit to gain clearance in the front to fit bigger tires. Occasionally people will put them on just for the looks but my reasoning was to fit the bigger tires that I put on.

I have a 2.5" level kit on my truck. Does anyone know if I could run 305/70/17 size tires on it? I now have 285s on and I think i would look a bit better with a little taller rubber on it. Any thoughts??

Those tires should be fine height wise being about 33.8 inches but they may be too wide. They look to be about 12" wide which may be to big for the stock rims.

Someone with more experience will have to step in though.

305/70s is the biggest that my tire guy recommends for the stock rims. But yes they will fit just fine on there with no rubbing issues.

is it just my old eyes , or does it look like the rear of his bed is sitting lower than the front of the bed? It might be the slant of the driveway. But i think there is more gap at the top then the bottom of the bed.

Stock rims are 7.5 to 9 inches in width depending on which model we're talking about. Most are 7.5inches. I wouldn't put a 305 width on a 7.5inch rim...too much risk of in becoming unseated at the sidewall.

This is an XLT truck with the 5 spoke wheels with the whitish finish on them. I have seen a few 295/70 sizes available also, but that probably wouldn't look much different. Thanks for all the input.

Nice looking truck!

I'm thinking this will be my next mod. Will a 2.5 inch leveling kit level out my 4x4 regular cab. Even a little nose down would be good. I just don't want to go any higher and I don't want the front to sit higher than the rear.

I'd say go with the 2" kit
I have a Procomp 2.5" kit on mine and it looks nose high. Actual fender measurements say it's actually a half-inch low in front still, but it "looks" high.

I did the 2" a couple of weeks ago and it's just enough on my '06. If I had done the 2.5" I think it would have been too high.

The higher clearance is nice. I put it to use this weekend when I had to hop out of line at the local JackInTheBox. Evidently there was some hash brown disagreement and a couple of cars full of roofers blocked off the exit to the drive thru so nobody could move. After waiting and being trapped inline for 10 minutes I hopped the curb (which had no earth on the other side of it) and drove through a field...I didn't even bottom out on my skid plate.

I'm loving my 1.5" kit as well as the new tires. I think it looks great and hopefully I'll get the chance to take it offroad soon. Can't thank everyone here enough!

Have been thinking about a leveling kit myself and the question I have is if I put one in how much will the back end sag with my ATV in it (about 500lbs loaded)? I have read a few threads here where people do the front to level the truck and then turn around and put spacers/blocks in the back. is this just a cheaper way to lift the whole truck?

This auction says if I put these spacers on my truck I can fit up to 33x12.5's is this correct?
