99 F350 Trans pump seal

I have a 99 350 SD with 111,000 miles. Has been shifting fine and acting fine. Pushed front seal out of pump. Should I just replace the seal or is there a cause for this failure?

It's hard to say. The seal could have just finally dropped out but I would suspect that something pushed it out. You will have to get in there anyway so take a look then. It may have seized and spun out also.
