ACT/ECT testing

Hi all,

Trying to test my sensors this morning. The truck is at ambient temperature, should I still be able to get resistance readings on these two sensors?

If so, by the same token, I should be able to take one out of the box and get resistance readings as well...correct?

Thanks,
Rick

Yes you should.
I just checked an ACT sensor and it read about 25,000 ohms.
I will look for my spare ECT sensor but seems to be hiding right now.
The ECT should also read about 25,000 ohms.

See here... http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/

Both these sensors can be tested with a DMM and heated water for the ECT and a hair dryer/heat gun for the ACT, the resistance readings will change as the sensor heats up from ambient.
