Steering shake solved, dual stabilizers

My 05 Superduty was starting to get the death wobble type of action in the front end when I hit some bumps. This happened not long after I bought the truck new, and Ford installed a new stabilizer. Now with 60,000 miles it was starting again. So I installed a dual steering stabilizer set up and love it. It drives so much better I can't hardly believe it. Thought this might help some people who may have similar problems.

Question

Thanks for the post. Which stabilizer did you install? I have read on several posts that this seems to help the bouncing around on rough roads. Did you experience that also? Did you do the install yourself and if so how hard was it to do.

Thanks Senix, I have 20 inch tires and really feel the bumps (road shock). I am seriously concidering the dual stabilizers. Trying to do my homework berfore making the investment. Your picture really helps and i see from your previous posts you are a fan. Did you install your own or have it done. Seems like it should not be too hard but sometimes you get started and find something you don't realize is there,

pretty straight forward to do the install. Just make sure your wheels are straight by measuring front wheel to rear wheel on both sides.

No real trick to it.

Looks great... what brand or part #? Also, I see that the stabilizers have FX4 labels. Finally, I see that you have custom FX4 decals on the truck. Where did you acquire those decals?

I know... questions, questions, questions.

Mine is the Rough Country kit which I purchased for $110 with the brackets and both stabilizers. In fact I even got them to toss in the blue boots for me. I installed myself, and it was actually super easy. Hardest part was removing the factory stabilizer. As an FYI a regular tie round end pickle fork won't get it off, I had to use my ball joint pickle fork which is wider and it finally popped off. Total it took just over an hour to install.

My truck did not have the decals so in 2005 when I bought it I wanted them, I know many people take them off, but it was just me. There was a guy on eBay that had custom versions of these and I liked the blue ones with the Lightning bolts, so ordered them for my truck, and I was installing the lift and new shocks, so also ordered a few small ones for the shocks.
The dual stabilizer is Rough Country p/n 87491 which shows to fit 2005 to 2008. The brackets are nice thick heavy duty looking and installed nicely.
