Hopefully you don't mind me posting the pics you sent. Since it's such a cool setup, figured others might like to see.

Did you go with the tfs-r because you didn't think the gt40 intake would be enough for the big motor or because of cost? It's a pretty cool looking intake. Does it come 90mm already or do you have to bore it out?

TFS-R makes two versions - 75mm and 90mm. I went with 90mm becasue of the Lightning MAF being 90mm. The GT40 lower does not have enough flow for a 408 (optimal). You would need to have it ported. I was debating going with a GT40 lower and a Downs Box upper, but the TFS-R still had the better bang for the buck. Actually you can get GT 40 on ebay pretty cheap, but I think a lot of them have been messed with and screwed up. TFS-R had the best all around specs for a truck as you want the power in the lower end, but the bigger intakes have shorter runners so TFS-R was better than say a Edelbrock EFI.

It runs waaay better than my original set up with Edelbrok truck EFI and the 61mm BBK dual TB.

Yeah those edelbrock truck intakes dont have much runner cross section. The gt40 lower has more in stock form.

How much did you spend on the upper/lower/phenolic spacer? Does it not have internal EGR routing?

No internal EGR. I eliminated mine. I bought the setup new three years ago for about 750. Just put everything together in the past few weeks.

What I like is that the 408 has good bottom end but the TFS-R comes to life at 40MPH and will still make power into the mid 5000 range. It is hard to believe that I have to let off the pedal as it feels like turbo kicks in at 40+

Hehehe, freekin' awesome! Definitely jealous; you haven't taken any video, have you? I want to do a smog legal 373w with a twin-screw. I have a KB 2.2L with a 75mm inlet which I've been told isn't sufficient in terms of size to feed a big stroker like a 408, but I'm thinking it might work pretty good with a small increase in displacement and around 10psi of boost on a 373.

For now I'm just building an N/A rollerblock with lightning stuff to get an engine swap tag for a 351w lightning motor in a 5.0 bronco.

I see that both of you that posted on this thread found Gen 1 Lightning brackets for a TFS-R conversion. I am doing the same thing. Any advice on where I might track down a Lightning throttle cable bracket?

I bought mine from Delray Motors, in Delray, Florida (Formerly Delray Lincoln Mercury). They are a major wholesaler of Ford parts.

If it is accessible, could you help me out with the part number for the throttle bracket you bought. If it is not positioned such that you can see the stamping, then I understand.

No need to look at bracket. Invoice part #F3TZ9728AA.

Carl Lilly is the parts guy, his # is 800-432-9803 or 561-265-4601.

I accept with information: the application list for the 'Accelerator Cable' for a 94 L, It shows the same cable working on broncos / normal fseries (twin tb trucks).
