Oil shooting out of the weep hole on number 4 Injector

Just changed all my injector O-rings. Fired it up before replacing valve covers and noticed number for injector was shooting a shot of oil out of the weep hole every time it fires. But no oil coming out of the discharge side. I’m wondering if I need to replace the injector? I need help I’m open.

Yes, weep hole.

On the square body (the top) of the injector, opposite of connector side is a small hole half way down the square body. That is where oil spurts out each time injectors fires. If you have not actually had the injectors out and in your hand you might not be aware of this hole. If I had not saw the oil shooting out I would not know of this hole.

Each injector has a spot where it spurts oil out, but you're claiming it's coming out a different area.

I don't have much idea what you're talking about otherwise. My memory is a bit fuzzy on injectors now.

it should not be leaking out of that hole
if you pull the wires to it while running, I bet your idle wont change much

Sounds like your injector is screwed. I don’t recall anything coming out “the back”. Your other injectors are not doing it correct?

Any chance the orings on that injector are damaged? I would at least pull it and give it a good once over before I bought one

That is the intent of my comment. I wonder if it was damaged during the installation.

Here's an old thread that sounds familiar:

Is this the weep hole?

I forgot what that's for, but oil shouldn't come out of there IIRC ever. That's just the spacer for setting the backlash on the piston. jesus my memory doesn't want to do this. Jim taught me how a majority of all this stuff works and I've forgotten almost all of it.
