Well, just went out, I got a 9/32 open end wrench but boy is that left front fuel plug a bugger, its in there good, guess from all the years of washing down the motor compartment. I kept W-D40ing it, even did it this morning and let it sit but it ain't budging. Looks like I'll just keep spraying it and working it until I get it, didn't even get to the back one yet..I'll try again tomorrow with the same routine.
Hey Mike, I do believe I remember Clay using and saying to just go with vice grips on those plugs. It's quicker and easier just to go straight with vice grips and get em out. I remember the left front being easy to do though, you sure you're working on the correct one?

Will try that, scared chitless of rounding them off. I hope its the right one I,m working on, its the first plug between the air conditioner compressor and the HPOP, right?? I been looking at your pics and I believe its the one. Hard as heck to get to.
Basically, you're going to round them off anyway, just use the vice grips and get em on tight. That's the right plug though, it's tight, but it's a straight shot at least. The back one is 10 times more difficult. You need a 16 year old skinny kid named Nick to get back there.

Ok Keith, glad to know I'm on the right one but I thought I would start with the hardest one, shees, O well, I have a 11 year old named Mike Jr. that will help me on that back one..Did you have to remove anything on the front to make it easier to get too??Even vice grips seem tight to get in there??
No sir, we didn't remove anything. And I'm seriously not trying to make you feel bad here, but that front plug came out likity split. As in 27 seconds it was out. The back one took about 1.5 hours, but that's because we took out the wrong plug and we were trying to thread a new fitting in to a hole that was impossible for it to fit in to.

Good deal. I think with all the engine washes over the years, it doesn't look bad, real rusty at all just that its in there. I'll keep hitting it with some PB and WD-40 and keep working it, when time permits. Thanks for the help Keith, I'll keep you posted.
Thought I would add these to the mix... Just finished installing my RiffRaff FRx and since I had lots of good access for pics, here they are:
Mine was an early kit that was unassembled... I put it together similar to what Clay is doing now, using oetiker clamps. Finished the longer runs with wire loom to prevent abrasion and give it the factory look.
Front fitting
Another view with my matching AIH plug in the background
Rear fitting, drivers side. I wonder how this will fare with so much heat from the up-pipes right next to it???
