y-block interest

I found a complete shortbed chassis to buy for my truck. He won't sell it without the 272 y-block, 3 speed trans, etc. Is there enough interest in these things that I could sell the engine/trans and recover some of the money?

Well, for the restorer who wants to go all original, I would think you could sell them easily. But, I could be wrong.

Bump!

I would say...don't buy it with the idea that someone will buy the yblock.
I have 3 extra yblocks with trannys and have a few in some of my trucks.
Mostly guys are installing newer drivetrains and not much interest in yblocks old oiling issues.
Go to the yblock forum and ask.
In Ohio there is only about 5 of us that even talk yblock....and I have grown to not like them much.....but good luck.....Bill
