Thanks, the pics hide lots though Its made up of about 5 or 6 trucks. Sanding consisted of a 7" grinder with a scotch brite pad, paint and primer was rolled. Ain't pretty but looks good on the hiway, and keeps D.O.T away.
As for the thaw... its getting there, probably another month or 2 before things dry up, my RX7 is still almost to its windows in snow.

I did drive it for 2 weeks last winter with duct tape for a right cab corner, it was rusted all the way to the door handle... There is about $450 total into the truck including the $300 purchase price.
Only reason I bought it was because it had the 300 under the hood and was on propane from the time it was new.

Here's my dash I did the other day, I really wish I'd taken a before pic first. The speaker hole was gone and it had about 5 other large cracks. Still not perfect because I ran out of sandpaper but still 100 percent better than before.
I'm gonna pull it back off later and finish the small stuff and repaint it again, This was just to see if I could do it.

Also, not trying to be contradictory or anything, but the "highboy" term only applies up until 1976, if I remember correctly (because they came from the factory with a small "lift kit" ).
Still, love that dent-side body style. I'm partial to the 73 to 77's.

As far as I know, Ford used that chrome trim from the mid 70s to the mid 90s. Its attached in sections by clips which are removable, just be careful cause they're easy to break. If you ever need to replace the chrome, LMC sells it for a pretty good price, or just check a junkyard.
I do love the look of that chrome, I need to get a move on replacing mine.

Lots of bondo, sandpaper patience. I used some spray paint made for plastics, Probably not that it really matters though. I used some of that aluminum ducting tape to tape the backside of the speakerhole so I could fill it, and any cracks that curled up I broke them off. It isn't perfect at all, I'm not that great with bondo. You can still see a couple small cracks in it, But I'm gonna take it back out later and see if I can finish it up. Either way it still looks 1000% better than it did.

The next truck I get is definitely gonna be an IDI. International made excellent engines, I will never understand why Ford stopped using them.

All the problems with the 6.0L caused a lot of problems between Ford and International/Navistar. Unfortunately it was the emissions regulations and equipment that caused the majority of the problems with those engines. Stock 6.0's, when maintained, are reliable, but they don't handle power increase well without some appropriate modifications/upgrades. That started the real rift between the two companies.
