F-2 Suspension Travel

Yeah, so I've got a manual someplace, but I've moved twice since I last worked on this truck. I haven't exactly found it yet. Does anyone have any specs or tolerances for front suspension travel for a '52 F-2? I've noticed that there are only about 2 1/2 or 3 inches between the top of the u-bolt plate and the snubber. It seems like there sould be a little more than that. I mostly just want to establish whether or not my springs are shot so I can budget for fresh ones if necessary.

Thanks for posting the chart, Bob, but I'm not sure that's what I'm looking for. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure if what I want is even in the manual, although I would be surprised if is wasn't. I'm trying to determine what the original specification was for vertical axle travel on the front axle. My manual was a little on the beat-up side anyway. I'm probably going to have to just buy a new one. Say, I don't suppose you've got any rough idea off the top of your head what kind of clearance you have between the snubber and the axle plate on the the front of your F-2, do ya?

I have about 1 3/4". I have the original springs on it so they might be sagging a little.

Unless you plan to carry some very heavy loads I think your clearance is good. The larger trucks had some pretty beefy springs and they won't give much...

Thanks, Bob. I went over and measured mine and it's got about 2 1/4" of travel on the original springs. It has been sitting on the springs, but it hasn't been driven in at least 20 years and I don't think it had a ridiculous amount of mileage on it. Mayhap they didn't have as much when new as I thought. They just don't seem to have much arch. They're almost flat. The truck doesn't see to be unusually low in the front but maybe a little. It's hard to tell with no bed and the rear axle sitting on blocks.
