Body stripe edges curling

Hi all

I have a problem with the passinger side pin stripes on my 96 F-150 4X4. I noticed that the edges are curling up. Is there any way that I might be able to get them to lay flat again, or should I just remove them and start over? If I need to remove them, what would be the best way?

Thanks in advance!

can you remove just the portion that is curling up so it stops the chain reaction thats going on? what i mean is remove about a cennimeter of good stuff along with the part that is coming loose so you have a nice tight and crisp edge on it again. maybe that would work.

Had the same problem a few years back. Cutting the edgem works for stopping the peeling action. If you want to remove it use a blow dryer to heat the stripe as you pull it back. I removed mine in the winter, and it made it a lot easier to take off. The adhesieve that is used is really sticky. Goo B Gone also works, but takes a while, and a lot of scrubing, good luck, Levi

Levi and Chris,

Thanks for your suggestions. I think I will go the blow-dryer/Goo-Gone route and then replace the whole stripe. I assume I can find the same type/color stripe from Ford?

Merry Christmas!

Any paint and body shop should have it. I tried to put some on myself, but it isn't that easy. My new truck had both stripes replaced as they were peeling from the factory. Ford didn't charge me anything and it only took about 10 min. Colors shouldn't me hard to match. There are a tone of them. Good luck, Levi
