How to clean Aluminum wheels
Just had to share - My hubby bought me some diff kinds of chrome and metal polish at our local parts store and the parts guy recommended we try Eagle One Nevr-Dull Wadding Polish - this stuff worked great!!!
The aluminum tank on the Kenworth was real oxidized and dull looking (took away from all the chrome) and since I was in the mood to play with the truck, I tore a little piece of the wadding off, rubbed some on the tank and hand buffed it off. We were really amazed at the diff. and how easy this stuff was to work with. The whole tank (at least the sides I can see) now shine like chrome.
Don't want to sound like a commercial, but this stuff really impressed me. Thought if you have any dull alum, or hard to reach chrome, this might make your life easier.

Blue Magic Metal Polish is the greatest. It takes work, it definately isn't a spray on/hose off, in fact it may take a couple hours to do both wheels, as you have to rub and rub and rub, but once you see the end result, you'll be so happy you'll be disbeleif. Also works miracles on Brass, mirrors, and glass.

John -
I agree with you on the Blue Magic. What I like about it is the silicone protective finish. I put it on the front Chrome of the Kenworth this past weekend and now when Steve gets home at the end of the day there's no scrubbing to get the bugs off the front. The force of the water from our garden hose knocks about 95% of those little critters off.
My plan for the Alum. Wheels is to use the Eagle One wadding (because it really does work with little effort) and finish off with the Blue Magic for protection and a brighter shine.

I think that's the same Never-Dull we used in the Navy, and man this stuff goes up like GANGBUSTERS when hit with a flame

How to clean Aluminum wheels
i just used EAGLE ONE etching cleaner on my wheels and it worked wonders for me. these wheels were real bad and i thought its imposible to get them up to par . what a big difference it made and it only takes a few minutes for each wheel. i used a scrubbing pad to clean off the brake dust and years of grime and like i said it takes a few minutes to do and take a garden hose to rince off.

What it sounds like, you used is a Hydrofluric Acid solution and it will clean up aluminium and give it a dull whiteish look. Now it is ready to polish. We use acid before we polish any aluminum to clean into the pores of the aluminum (even a new wheel). One more comment. Aluminum must be smooth in order to reflect the shine. If it is not it will defuse and not reflect.

Truck Wash yes you are so right on the colour of the wheels before the polish. right now i did not get the polish on just yet as the weather got yucky and cool. but when i do get buffing i would love to see the results of my aluminum and to take care of them from there. i was going to buy new rims untill i used the Eagle One. thanks for the pep. .

Never dull polish works wonders on all metal... when I was in the military, we used it to clean all sorts of decorative brass and other metals, as well as to polish belt buckles and such. Works like a charm!
I also collect civil war relics, and I have used it clean up the metal parts on an old sword. I have also used it to clean jewelry and metal parts on an electric guitar.I t did a great job, for sure on them all.
