Aftermarket intake recommendation for 272

A buddy of mine purchased my 53 F100. The 53 has a 272 Y block out of a 56 in it with the 3x2 setup. He wants to switch to an aftermarket aluminum intake for a standard 4bbl carb.

Can someone tell me what intake to get? I didn't have any luck at Checker Auto or Autozone and the Edelbrock website wasn't much help without a part number.

Thanks.

Yes - you are correct. Blue Thunder does have one. I was wondering if there was a less expensive option from Edelbrock.

Thanks.

At the time, the Blue Thunder is the only aftermarket manifold available with the standard pattern. Another will be available soon but it will be priced about the same. This new one should be a better design.

Unless you just have to have aluminum, you will be better off with the stock iron 4v manifold for the 272.

Do you know which heads are on the 272? You will have difficulty getting these manifolds to seal on 54, 55, and 56 heads.

ford-y-block.com check this site. This guy has a lot of good stuff....a little pricey, but hey your talking about trying to get performance parts for a 55 year old technology that is just getting harder and harder to find by the day.
