Do "DOGS" have a clue that we don't?

the LOVE of a DOG

That which loves us so well and asks so little -
Just a place to run and be happy
People to bond with and to love....
A kind lick, well intended but sloppy - (and a little stinky)

You can try to understand love like that,
But it is not fathomable....
HOW CAN A SIMPLE DOG LOVE SO WELL?
And THOROUGHLY.....

It is beyond understanding of humankind.
WE DO NOT LOVE SO DEEP -or if we do rarely
The gifts of a simple canine are bottomless
They are complete.

WHO and WHAT are these that God sent us?
What are they here for?
Why are they LIKE this?
HOW can we match them ourselves????

It is as if JESUS was sent to us in another form...
Nothing is like the complete and total LOVE of one of these
And they do this because it is in their nature
It is what they know......

THIS!
It is what they do.
If only we could be like them for once
The LOVE of a simple DOG is perfect....

Oh Wolfie,,, I'm sure that many of us have loved as deeply as you speak, and have been hurt so profoundly, that we shy away from allowing ourselves the wonderfulness of ever doing it again! I know that this is very true for me!

But even through all the pain and sorrow, I have no regrets and will allow myself to love completely again, someday! It's one hell of a ride! I highly recommend it!

But, until then, I'll take those slobbery dog kisses!!

Your poem is very well put Wolfie!!!!!!

I have yet to find a human that can love as unconditionally as a dog can.

She's half Pug and half Husky, if you can believe it!! She looks much like a Pug, same size, same body shape but has the Husky nose and coat!! Thank Goodness!! I don't much like the smashed nose look!

She's 8 months, so still a baby, and hyper as all get out!! Good thing I have two acres for her to run!! I know she'll mellow out as soon as she has a littler and gets fixed.

What does Rufus look like?

I know I'm probably going to get stomped for this.... but, I'm curious as to why you are going to breed her with so many unwanted dogs in the world as it is. Just get her spayed. She'll have more of a chance of getting mammary cancer if she's bred too.

I tried to give Wolfie Reps but it says that I have to spread the love. I don't understand this for I haven't posted on here for quite some time so I should be open to give some reps, right?

Certain animals are hard to take pictures of,they just won't sit still...

Michelle, it is not that you have not posted in a while, it is the fact that you have not given out enough rep to other people since you last gave rep wolfie.
i believe you must give rep to 15 other people before you can rep someone again.

I took her to work with me when she was little,,, So, she's looking at our Admin. Assit. She was really good about just lying in my work space and chewing on her toys. I loved taking her out into the field, she would chase the shadows of the turbines as they went around!! But, now she spazzes out all over everywhere!! So, I can't take her to work with me anymore!! Ha! Ha!! Ha!!

Hopefully she'll mellow back out with age!! She's a little too hyper!!

I have my German Shepherd who lives with daily prozac. She was a rescue and even tho she has made my life difficult and cost me a fortune I love her so much. She seldom barks. She does talk. When she is happy she makes this hilarious sound. If y'all saw Forrest Gump you will remember the scene where FGs momma bedded the school guy so FG could go to school and when the guy came out of the house FG made that hilarious humpy grunt sound? That is how MYA sounds. We die laughing because seeing her goofiness and hearing her talk is unreal.

Animals give us something special. My horse is my church. He is my rock, my fortress. He is always there (unless I want to catch him in a hurry) He is a listener, dryer of tears and he KNOWS when something is wrong. My 3 kittens are just as amazing. They always know when something is amiss.

It is an innocence.

Wolfie, I have to say this. I agree with you 100%. However, since retirement, I have become a mailman with a 100% walking city route. I see the opposite side of dogs all the time. Now, I understand that thier occasional aggression towards me is simply out of love for thier owners and to protect what is thiers. With that said, I've only sprayed two dogs in 4 years as I respect and understand thier mindset.

We are also animal lovers as we foster for the local SPCA. My house is full of animals as we speak. They ask for so little and offer so much.

I don't know for sure if puppies really do take after their human pets - but them pups are surely from Maine, and have that hardcore yankee mindset.

It could take years before they all really accept you as other than "Not from around H'yaaahh..."
