what trans is this!

I have a 72 f100 that has had a motor swap at some time and is due for another< how do I identify my transmission and figure out what motor will bolt up? It currently has a 351w. Thanks fellas

ok, the easiest and fast way is to see the Oil Pan, if you can get a picture of the trans oil pan, we can tell you what it is.

well id love to but my wife decided to shut the camera in the tailgate of the bronco so its dead. but best I can tell you it looks to be totaly square about 12'' by12''

AOD = 14 transmssion pan bolt holes.

C6 = 17 transmission pan bolt holes.

C4/C5 = 11 transmission pan bolt holes.

300 6, 302, 351W 351C will all bolt to that tranny bell.

There is one more Trans , ( FMX ) I have installed alot of them from cars that they were already

behide the 351 W ,they are good trannys ! Some may not agree . Its been a while since I've have had one,or installed one.


P.S. one other way to spot the ( C6 ) is ( There are a bolt on small side cover that has a Peace Sign )
