My 350 has plenty of power now with the stock 460, T18, 3.55's and 235/85's but I was just wondering what is the max tire size that will fit with stock suspension. It's mostly a tow/haul vehicle so off road performance is negligible. I'm planning on regearing to 4.10's with the tire size change. I don't really want to lift it because it is a tow rig mainly. It'll have a ZF5 by the time this is done. Thanks.

 

33s for sure, possibly 35s. 35s should fit, but in my experience they don't always. It depends on the brand and the actual size of the tire. I've seen 35 inch BFG's mounted without doing anything and others that have had to trim or shim the bumper. Your mileage may vary.

 

A bit of trimming doesn't bother me. Mileage is horrible as is so neither does that.

 

i have 33x12.5 on my stock f250 and the front springs are saggin. it depends on how wide you go, i seen a guy with 37s on a stock 350 with just moving the bumper a little. but then another tire might just barely clear 35s, also the backspacing of the wheel matters

 

The 35s should clear without issues. I put 36s on my '97 F350, no problems...with stock steel wheels, even.

 

I really would like to put on the newer style of H1 tires when I do. I don't mind a bit of modification to the front bumper I'm just worried about how much it will affect the steering. Do you have major issues with the tires hitting the springs with 36's? Turning radius is already bad, not really looking to make it much worse.

 

Quite a few of us have done that route - do a search and see the opinions.

As for me...no real issues...yet.

I have good clearance between the tires and springs. They will rub lock-on-lock.

The steering isn't bad, but since my truck has sloppy steering to begin with, it has magnified the sloppiness. The 36s won't be there much longer, anyway. I'm going back to stock when I buy new tires.

 

go with 33's or it will look stupid and crammed

 

Heres some pics of my F250 w/ 36" tires and no lift. All i had to do to get them to fit was remove the front bumper. (Already had the custom one made, so that wasnt a problem for me.)

I had 39" Mickey Thompson's on my 96 F350 4x4 with only a 3" body lift and custom front bumper to prevent rubbing issues. Just for reference is the purpose of telling you that but I would stick with a decent 33" tire like Wild Country TXR or RVT radials.

 

285/75/16 it a 33/11.00 fits perfect no rubbing no trimming, might have to space the bumper out a inch. my pretty much stock 460 with 4.10's will burn'em no problems

 

I have 35s on 10in wide wheels on my stock 97 F350 and no rubbing on the springs or anything,just a little trimming on the bumper.Also the tires if anything still look small on my truck and are by no means crammed on.

 

As has been said, the 35's fit nicely, better on a 91 body style than a 92 and up because the bumper doesn't come back as far. No trimming is necessary.
