Diesel mechanics in Orange county

Hi all

I'm taking a trip up the coast, through Oregon and into Washington in about a month or so. And as I intend on doing most of my own maintenance, i.e. fluid changes, extra gauges and lubrication, I still want to have a pro give it a once over before we hit the road.

So I'm looking for recommendations of Diesel mechanics in north O.C..
I have a non turbo 7.3 IDI in a 93 F250 4X4.

I live near the Brea mall and Cal State Fullerton so parts of southeast LA and Corona/Pomona areas are possible too.....

Thanks for you opinions....

Though he's farther away than you wanted, the recommendation above is a very good one.

Heck, it sound like Bud is the only man in the OC..... I'm still working on the presentation, I mean why pay Bud to change the oil and flush the coolant at $80 an hour when I'm living the frugal life.

Now what about parts?

Body, ***** and plastic parts I'll pick up at one of the many pick your part yards around here. But is there a good place to get everything else? Right now I'm hitting up Napa and other auto parts stores but I read last night that napa's anti cavitation coolant additive shouldn't be used in my 7.3 idi.....

Plus when I am talking with the guys at these stores their eyes glaze over when I tell them I have a diesel....

Wish I could be of more help to you, but I don't know a thing about where to get parts other than what you already mentioned.

Hello all! Tom in Santa Ana is good guy. I think it's called Santa Ana Diesel. Does heavy diesel but will work on our little trucks too. lol! Don't recall the address but he's on Civic Center Drive in Santa Ana.

This seem like a good time and place to talk about starting a county mechanics referral list.... you know, like the ebay stats maybe. I found two others in Anaheim but, I don't know much about them yet.
